A teacher's guide to using e-Population in geography, social studies and economics lessons.
What the app gives a lesson
e-Population puts real UN, IMF and census data behind a 3D globe: 197 countries, populations from 1950 to 2050, religion and ethnicity breakdowns, economies, elections, and more than 1,300 rotating "Did You Know?" facts computed from the data itself. There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and everything works offline once installed — which makes it safe to hand to a class.

Inside every "Did You Know?" card, the graduation-cap toggle (Simpler facts first) reorders facts so elementary-level ones lead — nothing is hidden, so stronger readers can keep going. Tap the small ? beside terms like GDP or Median Age for a plain-language definition.

On a device with the app installed, these links open the exact screen — pin them into a slide deck or worksheet. (They use the epopulation:// scheme, so they work from notes apps and browsers on the device, not from a desktop.)

Three lesson starters
- Pyramid shapes (middle): open Japan, Nigeria and the United States side by side with the country links above; have students sketch each pyramid and explain which country will need more schools, and which more retirement homes, by 2050.
- The 8-billion timeline (elementary): use the Time Machine on the world view to find the year the world passed each billion; plot the gaps and ask why they keep shrinking — then check the "Did You Know?" milestones.
- Nominal vs PPP (high): on any country card, flip the GDP toggle between Nominal and PPP and have students explain the difference using the tap-for-definition entries, then find a country where the two tell very different stories.
